Buff Orpington
and Hybrids

Hatching Eggs,
Chicks and Chickens

About us

We are based in the picturesque village of Ellastone, near Ashbourne and just south of the Peak District National Park.  Our lovely, friendly chickens have free range over our 5 acres in the Dove Valley.

Buff orpingtons

Orpingtons have a very placid, friendly and docile nature, one that is tolerant of being handled.   They are one of the best birds for the first time keeper and for those with children – an ideal ‘pet’ chicken and they make good mothers.   They are dual purpose breed, being kept for meat and eggs, laying around 200 eggs a year.  They are a priority breed on the Rare Breeds Survival Trust watchlist.
